ROYAL-ROCKSTAR's JOANIS MAINTAINS POINTS LEAD, CAREER BEST FOR HALL IN ROUYAN!
The Royal Distributing Rockstar team was greeted with some massive amounts of real snow when they rolled into Rouyan Noranda Quebec this past weekend. One glimpse at the track and they knew it would be a challenging yet fun track to ride. The temperatures were sub -20°C but the local fans were out in huge numbers to watch the high flying CSRA racers.
Dave Joanis #115 , and Dylan Hall #421, fresh of some very successful rides south of the border in ISOC competition, were pumped and ready to rock in Quebec. Joanis sits in 3rd overall in ISOC Pro Lite with a win and a 2nd under his belt, and many successful heat races. Hall has been getting faster all year and found his groove to record a 4th place in ISOC Pro Lite at Canterbury, MN.
Joey Sagan #202, coming off a career best 3rd place finish in ISOC Pro Lite, had injured his foot the next day and would be only taking starts in Rouyan Noranda. Joey was a fan favourite as he pumped up the crowd, by tossing out Rockstar hats and T's from the starting line.
In Saturdays heat races, it was all Dave Joanis, as he nailed holeshot after holeshot and led his qualifying heats flag to flag, racking up valuable points along the way to the final. Dylan Hall maintained big points as well with a 2nd and 4th in his heats. When the green dropped on the Pro Open final it was all Joanis, as he lead from holeshot to checkered flag in dominating fashion. Dylan Hall kept pace with a podium finish and came home third, with an awesome points day in only his second Pro Open race.
Sunday's heats were a continuation for Joanis, as he won his first qualifier yet again. Dylan Hall put it on the box with a strong second in one of his heats. In the final, it was all Joanis as he built a solid lead until a misstep in a tricky portion of the track turn him and he dismounted hard, proving that the pros are running on the edge and even though they are so talented and make it look easy to us on the sidelines, one tiny error can result in a wreck. Hall got a great start and maintained his position to come home second, to keep Royal Rockstar on the podium. Dylan now has two podiums in his very short 3 race Pro Open career.
Joanis maintained his points lead in the National standings, with 2 wins in 3 finals. The team is off to an amazing start, as Joanis summed up on Saturday; "This team is amazing and I couldn't be happier to have Rockstar, Royal Distributing, Factory Recreation, Hall Transport, just everybody who has given me a chance! I appreciate it and every week I can't wait to get the the track and show my appreciation by working hard and trying to win."
