Each employee of Royal J & M Distributing Inc. is responsible for all personal information under his or her control and a Privacy Officer has been designated to be accountable for compliance with the Act. We will respond to such requests within 30 days, unless we first advise that we need a longer period to respond. A customer will be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.
Customers can address any complaint regarding compliance with the above principles with our Privacy Officer who will investigate their concerns and take the appropriate action to correct the situation. We will document all customer complaints, as well as our actions in response to complaints, by noting these details in the customer's file and also in a master privacy file.
How We Collect, Use and Disclose Personal Information
We collect, use or disclose personal information only with our customers' permission.
We will make sure our customers understand why we need personal information by using clear, understandable language when we identify the purpose. We collect only the information we need for the purpose(s) we have identified to our customers. Our files are kept for the purpose of providing better service in delivering clothing and apparel, aftermarket parts and accessories to our customers. We will not sell personal information under any circumstances. We only keep customers' information as long as we need it to establish and/or service their accounts or to meet regulatory requirements. Once it is no longer necessary, the information is destroyed using the highest of safeguards and standards. We do not keep our customers' credit card information on file for added security.
